Differential Sputtering Behavior of Pyrolytic Graphite and Carbon-Carbon Composite Under Xenon Bombardment
نویسندگان
چکیده
A differential sputter yield measurement technique is described, which consists of a quartz crystal monitor that is swept at constant radial distance from a small target region where a high current density xenon ion beam is aimed. This apparatus has been used to characterize the sputtering behavior of various forms of carbon including polycrystalline graphite, pyrolytic graphite, and PVD-infiltrated and pyrolized carbon-carbon composites. Sputter yield data are presented for pyrolytic graphite and carbon-carbon composite over a range of xenon ion energies from 200 eV to 1 keV and angles of incidence from 0° (normal incidence) to 60°.

Simulations of C60 bombardment of Si, SiC, diamond and graphite
Molecular dynamics simulations of the 20-keV C60 bombardment at normal incidence of Si, SiC, diamond and graphite targets were performed. The unique feature of these targets is that strong covalent bonds can be formed between carbon atoms from the C60 projectile and atoms in the solid material. The mesoscale energy deposition footprint (MEDF) model is used to gain physical insight into how the ...

In this study a new method of preconcentration, separation and efficient measuring of so-called hollow fiber solid / liquid phase microextraction has been introduced for the determination of trace amounts of lorazepam (LRZ) in water samples, urine and hair using differential pulse voltammetry. To this end, a hybrid adsorbent material was used that involved ionic liquid assisted magnetic multi-w...

In this study, Highly Oriented Pyrolytic Graphite was ablated in various polar and nonpolar solvents by Q-switched neodymium: yttrium-aluminum-garnet laser (wavelength=1064 nm, frequency=2 kHz, pulse duration=240 ns). Then, the products were examined using Scanning Electron Microscopy and UV-Vis spectroscopy. The images showed that different carbon structures such as cauliflower-like structures...

Electroanalytical parameters of different graphitic carbon-based electrode materials were compared to select the best one for the pantoprazole electroanalysis. Such parameters include sensitivity, repeatability, residual background current, and signal-tobackground current ratio of the analytical response and such electrodes include conventional carbon-based electrodes such as glassy carbon (GC)...
متن کاملMicrofibrillar carbon from native cellulose
Use of pyrolytic carbon from cellulose has been limited in practice to activated adsorbent carbon, but cellulose-derived carbon retaining the nanoscale microfibrillar morphology offers rich possibilities as an advanced material. Here we developed novel methods to prepare such materials by an improved drying of wet cellulose prior to pyrolysis. This procedure is an adaptation from electron micro...
